Oprah, ESPN Team Up to Give Cleveland Man His Dream

Posted By on Wed, Apr 20, 2011 at 12:37 PM

Oprah is in the midst of her final season, and before her show ends (and with it, the world, right?), she's doling out surprises left and right because that's what Oprah does. Well, that and cook marshmallows with burning $100 bills and defecate rainbows.

One of her special gifts has a local connection. Ron Brown, a regular ole Cleveland guy, has always wanted to work as a sportscaster. His friend knew this, and three years ago he sent a letter to Oprah's show imploring them to wield their mighty influence and help Ron out.

Skip ahead to present time. Finally hearing back from Oprah's people, Ron's buddies took him to the Winking Lizard to watch Sports Center for a super secret reason. During the live broadcast, the two announcers started talking to Ron directly, telling him that he's being dispatched to interview Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls and should report to ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut, when he's done. Video after the jump.

Dear Oprah: We have a special request if you have time. We'd really like for Michael Stanley to play halftime of the Super Bowl. Make it happen. Sincerely, America.
