Buckle Up for the Next Two Weeks

Or, ya know, always.

But it should especially be on your mind the next two weeks, as Ohio law enforcement agencies fan out and target drivers with a promise to make good on that whole "Click it or ticket" campaign.

According to the AP:


More than 900 law-enforcement agencies across Ohio will be aggressively ticketing motorists who don't buckle their seat belts in the next two weeks.

The Department of Public Safety said agencies participating in the seat-belt safety program include the State Highway Patrol.

Department Director Thomas Charles said overall seat-belt use in the state increased from 65 percent in 2000 to 84 percent in 2010. But Charles said hundreds of people die each year while not wearing a seat belt. The department said 397 people killed in crashes on Ohio's roads in 2009 were not wearing seat belts.

All snark aside, buckle up, folks. At the very least, you'll avoid a fine.
