Norwalk High Seniors Arrested for Prank; Prank Offensively Lame

Less wholesomeness, more wit.
  • Less wholesomeness, more wit.

The class of 2011 is pretty much treading water at this point, taking the victory lap before marching off into the Real World (or the Not-Quite-Real-World, aka college) diploma-in-hand. As we all know, that loose energy has been known to find expression in what’s become an American past time: the senior prank.

But at Norwalk High School, such a recent attempt seems to have been a big swing-and-miss.

According to the Sandusky Register
, two Norwalk seniors snuck up onto the high school’s roof early Wednesday. They spray painted the school and hung a sign with obscenities and shout outs over the main entrance. These weren’t the smartest assailants on the block — they stepped through their handy work; police were able to match the tracks to shoes, thus IDing the offenders.

But besides the destruction of public property and vandalism, the more serious offense these two are guilty of is a lack of imagination. We’re sure these dudes are big fist-pumping badasses on campus these days because they tarried on the other side of authority, but that prank sucked. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Spray paint? Are you kidding me? That’s stale toast, man.

At least pouring cement in the locks or ordering the Dean of Students a transvestite escort mucks up the factory-flow of the average school day, adds a little anarchy into the works. But covering walls and windows with spray paint? That, sirs, is an unimaginative insult to your school, your state, and your country.

If this is the kind of innovation and wit that’s coming out of kids these days, America might as well give up.
