Flick Filmed Here Will Highlight a Town Called..."Westbrae"

Posted By on Mon, Jul 11, 2011 at 4:10 PM

Folks around town have been observing all the hooplah surrounding Paramount Pictures' filming of the teen comedy Fun Size and everybody says it's great for Cleveland's image.

No it's not. It's great for the image of a place called Westbrae.

Cleveland really couldn't be any nicer to big Hollywood studios wanting to film here. We don't make them pay any taxes while they're in town, for starters. You would think that just once, a major flick filmed in Cleveland could just say it's in Cleveland.

After descending on Cleveland Heights and Beachwood during the last few weeks, the cast and crew hit W. 9th Street today. They appear to be setting up to shoot a scene at the intersection at St. Clair involving cars. Among the vehicles stacked up ready for action is one clearly marked "Westbrae Police."

There is a neighborhood in Berkeley, California called Westbrae. But there isn't a Westbrae anywhere near here.
