Bright Eyes vs. Cold Cave

It's decision-making time for fans of indie-rock bands that are basically one-man solo projects on record: Both Bright Eyes and Cold Cave are in town tonight.

In this corner we have Bright Eyes, Conor Oberst's occasionally rootsy band, which gets all moody and digital on the recent The People's Key. They play House of Blues at 9 p.m.

And in this corner we have Cold Cave, Wes Eisold's electronic goth-pop group, which courts '80s nostalgia on the new Cherish the Light Years. They play the Grog Shop at 8 p.m.

We like Bright Eyes' opener, Mountain Goats, better. But Cold Cave are hungrier these days.

Decisions — we hate 'em.
