A rapper doesn't own the famous Shiphouse on South Bass Island. There are probably no whips in the garage with 32-inch chrome spinners on the wheels, nor Cristal lining the shelves of the fridge. But the famous dwelling will nevertheless make an appearance on MTV's "Extreme Cribs."

Bryan and Emily Kasper bought the home in 1999, and the world quickly took notice of their strange living quarters. According to the Morning Journal:

The Shiphouse is the retrofitted front end of the Ford Motor Co.’s former Benson Ford (I), a freighter that transported iron ore and related materials across the Great Lakes from 1924 through 1981.

The home has walnut paneled state rooms, dining room, galley and passenger lounge designed by Henry Ford for his own pleasure while traversing the Great Lakes on business, according to Kasper.

After the freighter was decommissioned, the four-story, forecastle was removed and placed on the island as a summer cottage.

The structure includes a garage and 1,200-square-foot barroom, complete with pool table, slot machine, arcade games and wide-screen TV. There are also six bedrooms, five full baths and pilot house that offers views of sunsets off the western shore of Put-in-Bay, he said.

And in case you were wondering, no MTV has no interest in having the adult couple show young viewers around, so they tagged the Kasper's 17-year-old babysitter to serve as tour guide instead.
