Cookout Shootings Were Gang Related Just Shootings (Updated)

Posted By on Thu, Aug 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM

Update: Per Fox 8, cops say they've arrested James M. Jackson, 22, for the cookout shootings the other day. Also, authorities now say it was not gang related at all. OK, then.

The gunshots that rang out at a cookout on Bayliss Avenue last night stemmed from gangs, according to police and 19 Action News.

Four were shot in the dispute between the Bayliss Boys and another gang. All the victims were taken to Metro, but no details are available on their condition at the time.

Police tell 19 Action News that witnesses and victims are not cooperating with the investigation, which leaves cops with nothing much to go on for suspects right now.

We'll have to look at the numbers, but it damn sure feels like there's been a shooting every night this summer.
