Third Video of Everyone's Favorite Canton Cop Threatening to Kill Someone; Officer Has Been Investigated 18 Times

Posted By on Fri, Aug 26, 2011 at 9:00 AM

Canton police officer Daniel Harless, who gained the wrong kind of internet fame earlier this year when two videos capturing him threatening to kill folks he'd pulled over made the rounds, is the star of — surprise, surprise — a third video featuring the same super-macho threats and regulation-breaking antics that he's known for.

In this video, posted by NewsNet5, Harless pulls his "I'm going to kill you routine" with a passenger. Specifically, he says: “If you scratch you balls wrong, I’m going to pull my gun and I am going to shoot you.”

According to the report, Harless has been investigated by internal affairs 18 times, but has been cleared each time. A reporter asked the Canton chief of police if that number has raised any red flags about his cop. The chief gives a predictably noncommittal answer and pleads ignorance.

Buduson: “Why didn’t you know this was going on?”
McKimm: “I don’t understand your question.”

Buduson: “You’ve been in charge for a long time (9 years), how come you didn’t know about Harless’s behavior?”
McKimm: “Because there was no evidence Harless was a problem.”

Except 18 internal investigations and hours of videotape of him threatening to shoot people in the head. The newest installment in Harless' unofficial audition for Worst Cop in America is after the jump.
