Former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Steven Terry was handed a 5 year, 3 month prison sentence today for his dealings in the widespread Cuyahoga County corruption probe.

U.S. District Judge Sara Lioi had previously ruled that Terry perjured himself during his trial in Akron. "The wiretaps convinced this court that the defendant testifed falsely regarding his handling of the case," Lioi said, according to the PD.

That's the thing about wiretaps, of which the Feds have whole server's worth — it makes it pretty easy to catch you if you're lying on the stand. For Terry's Pinocchio performance, Lioi handed him the maximum sentence under federal guidelines.

Terry was accused of fixing a case for Cuyahoga Dem boss Frank Russo and doing campaign work on the taxpayers' dime. The wiretaps, which had Terry and Russo talking about the illegal fixing of a foreclosure case, were clear enough to not only convince jurors but also to land Terry five years in the clink where he's sure to have plenty of friends from the Northeast Ohio County Corruption All Stars to chat with, including fellow disgraced former judge Bridget McCafferty.
