Stock up on your stimulant of choice (coffee, Red Bull, cocaine, whatever): The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has 10 days of events leading up to the Induction Ceremony at Public Hall on April 14.

It all starts on March 31 at the Q, where a bunch of oldies acts — including Sam Moore, the still-alive half of Sam & Dave, Creedence Clearwater Revival without John Fogerty, and Mickey Dolenz, one-fourth of the Monkees — will take the stage to remind you that way, way better things are coming.

On April 7 mash-up master Girl Talk will play Public Hall. The last time he played Cleveland, right after New Year's 2011, he sold out House of Blues and rocked the hell out of it. So you won't want to miss this show.

A different kind of rocking out goes on April 10, when Rock My Soul: A Gospel Music Celebration Honoring Kirk Franklin comes to the State Theatre. Franklin himself will be there, along with Fred Hammond and Donnie McClurkin.

On April 12 — like they didn't have enough stuff going on there that week — the Rock Hall will unveil its latest exhibit, The Grateful Dead: The Long, Strange Trip. It will feature a bunch of artifacts from the San Francisco hippies who never met a song they couldn't stretch to 45 minutes.

That same night there will be a Free Concert for Cleveland at the Q. Right now, only George Clineton and his P-Funk crew and Kid Cudi are on board. But more artists will be announced soon. (And we all remember what happened the last time Cudi played a free concert in Cleveland, don't we?)

And yeah, it's free, but you need a ticket. And if you order that ticket online or by phone, you'll be charged a $2 service fee. So you may want to go to the Rock Hall Box Office, the Q, or Discount Drug Marts to pick one up on March 9 (or March 7, if you're a Rock Hall member).

If you didn't already get a ticket for the big event, you're out of luck. But you can get into the Rock Hall for free all day on April 14. So that's at least something, right?

There's a bunch of other stuff going on too — like education events — which you can read about at the Rock Hall's site. —Michael Gallucci
