How to Extend Your Holiday Weekend: Go See Victor Wooten

Posted By on Fri, May 25, 2012 at 9:00 AM

We know, we know — you're planning a great super-long holiday weekend, kicking off summer by eating ribs and all that, and the last thing you want to do is think about going back to work on Tuesday and getting shit done. Are we right?

Well, Victor Wooten is at the Beachland Ballroom on Tuesday. That should help get you through your day just a little bit.

Wooten is one of those bass players that other musicians love to watch in action. The dude's seemingly elastic fingers never stop moving.

He has a couple of new albums coming out in September.

In the meantime, Wooten — who's played with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Stanley Clarke, and Dave Matthews — is hauling his new band around the country testing out the material.

You should go, just to keep that long-weekend thing going. At the very least, you'll casually nod in awe. —Michael Gallucci
