Cleveland’s Cloud Nothings have become world travelers, leaving at the end of July for a month-long jaunt that will take them to festivals in Japan and Europe. Last Saturday, they played in New York’s Central Park as part of its SummerStage series, and they’ll be back in New York Thursday for an appearance on NBC’s Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and a gig at 285 Kent in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

But first … they’ll stop back home in Cleveland to kick off the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s Summer in the City series of concerts. They’ll headline, with Herzog opening at 7 p.m. It takes place on the plaza in front of the Rock Hall (on the lobby stage in case of bad weather), and it’s free. Hear what makes this three-year old quartet — originally a basement project by singer-songwriter Dylan Baldi — one of the hottest bands on the indie circuit today. Get there early to hear the clattering, tuneful pop-rock of Herzog, who released their latest album, Cartoon Violence, on Cleveland’s Exit Stencil Records earlier this year.
