Brothers Printing has been at its current location on Euclid Avenue since 1974, and has had a downtown presence since 1950. The owners recently renovated their two adjacent buildings near the campus of Cleveland State University to include new retail and residential.

"We know downtown, we're heavily invested in the area, and we believe in the area," explains partner David Kaufman.

Part of that project includes a new restaurant called JB MACK (2032 Euclid Ave., 216-771-6225, jbmack.com), the first location of a growing franchise. The casual eatery will open this coming Monday, July 16th. Featuring the tagline, "Taste the comfort," the restaurant specializes in customizable bread bowls filled with macaroni and cheese.

"We searched high and low for a great concept," Kaufman adds. "We see what area lacked and we see what the area needs. This seemed like something that would have appeal to the students."

Kaufman describes the eatery as fast-casual — "Think Subway," he says. Guests select from eight house combos or they can design their own from a selection of cheeses, meats and veggies. The ingredients get mixed into a bread bowl, topped with cheese, and run through a finishing oven to toast it all up. Start to finish the process takes just a couple minutes.

Mac and cheese selections include plain, veggie with peppers, mushrooms and broccoli, Philly with steak, onions and peppers, and taco with seasoned ground beef, jalapenos, and cheese sauce.

JB MACK also sells soups, salads, grilled wraps and grilled cheese. Prices range from $3.99 for a basic grilled cheese up to $9 for lobster mac and cheese.
