Albert Belle Wants to Manage the Indians

Posted By on Tue, Oct 2, 2012 at 2:08 PM

Sandy Alomar? Terry Francona? Two good options, we guess. One's a 90s darling who wore the Wahoo and was a steadfast block behind the plate and a sometimes wizard with the bat. The other, a guy with a World Series ring who dealt with the hell that is managing the Boston Red Sox.

Give us Joey. Give us flexing biceps and Halloween escapades and throwing balls at fans and cursing and yelling and a temper that'll make your blood run cold.

Via comes news that Albert Belle is with us. He wants to manage the Tribe, and he's let it be known to Top Men.

One more candidate: Former Tribe slugger Albert Belle said he threw his hat into the ring with an email to President Mark Shapiro asking for a managerial interview.

"I'm just like Robin Ventura and Mike Matheny were last year," said Belle with a laugh, referring to the White Sox and Cardinals bosses. "I'm sitting on my couch waiting for my phone to ring."

Give him a chance, Shapiro. And let the interview be open to the public. And broadcast live on STO. Please, please, please, make this happen.
