Monday Morning Reading From Around Cleveland

Posted By on Mon, Dec 17, 2012 at 7:37 AM

Monday morning in Cleveland - Where the news flows like wine and the tenacious politicians instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. OK. Here's our morning reading roundup:

- Are you looking for a hearty dose of gubernatorial talk? The PD's Henry Gomez has a terrific take on which governor we'll see in 2013. "Pugnacious or pragmatic?" he ponders when considering the rest of Gov. John Kasich's term. His analysis pairs well with Tom Suddes' column on Kasich's turnpike actions and a fine cabernet.

- Here's FOX 8 with footage of Cleveland's Sunday service at the In Touch for Christ Christian Center, held in dedication to the victims of the Newtown, Conn., shooting.

- Sun News' Bob Sandrick has the details on Mary Poldruhi's efforts to revive Parma Pierogies. Her business closed in 1999 and she's currently seeking donations to reopen it. Former President Bill Clinton was a big fan - and you will be, too, when the store opens its door again.

- Remember Ronald Post, the 450-pound death row inmate? Of course you do. According to the AP, a judge may consider his claim that "he's too fat to be executed humanely." The Ohio Parole Board recommended clemency by a vote of 5 - 3. [UPDATE: 2:30 p.m. Gov. John Kasich spared Ronald Post, following parole board ruling.]
