Chris Hodgson, chef and partner at Hodge’s Cleveland, has been included in Food & Wine magazine's The People’s Best New Chef competition. The chef will be competing both in his region — Great Lakes — and the entire nation.

He is among 100 outstanding chefs, divided into 10 regions, who will compete for votes from the general public. The chef with the most votes in each region will be named a finalist and the finalist with the most votes overall will be named The People’s Best New Chef. The winner will be featured in the July issue.

"It's humbling just to be noticed by Food & Wine," Hodgson says. "And I think I have a great shot of winning not just the Great Lakes region, but the whole thing."

"If Cleveland gets behind this, we can really win this."

Supporters who take a screen shot of their vote confirmation and present it during a visit to Hodges will receive a free snack. Also, anyone who ‘shares’ the announcement from Hodge’s Facebook page will be entered into a drawing for dinner for 10 in their home, cooked by Hodgson (local residents only).

Voting starts today (3/11/13) and ends on 3/18/13. Visit here to cast yours here http://www.foodandwine.com/peoples-best-new-chef/great-lakes
