Pic of the Day: 1839 Cleveland Goat Ordinance

Posted By on Wed, May 15, 2013 at 10:08 AM

Via the Cleveland City Council Facebook Page: On this day in 1839, council passed an ordinance restricting the unlawful running of goats. Violators were subject to a $10 fine.

(A version of this law may have to be rebooted if the "Mow Goat" pilot project takes off. What's the Mow Goat pilot project, you ask? Oh, that's the "new environmentally sustainable and community-building alternative to city mowing using a herd of goats.")

Sensational penmanship to boot!
