Here's the Horrendous Proposed Signage at the Ameritrust Complex

Via the dynamite tweets of PD real estate reporter Michelle Jarboe "Don't Call Me Nanny" McFee, representatives from the Geis Company met with the Cleveland Design Review Committee this morning to discuss signage at the Ameritrust complex, which Geis recently acquired in a major deal with Cuyahoga County.

And these proposed signs look...awful. I mean, whooee, just atrocious.

Fortunately, according to McFee, the design committee members weren't impressed. They questioned the prominence of "A Geis Property" at the top of the Breuer tower (pictured above) and diagnosed the condition of the graphics as "needing some work."

The Ameritrust Complex is still slated to house a hotel ("The Metropolitan"), a restaurant ("The M on 9th"), offices and apartments. The recurrence of an enormous red "M" appears to be the thrust of Geis' branding efforts. You'd think this were Sesame Street.
