Well, commemorative Superman license plates are now available in Ohio.

According to this awesome Superman site, the city of Cleveland is hosting a launch ceremony today, with representatives from DC Comics, the Siegel and Shuster families, and the Siegel and Shuster Society.

Custom plates cost $20 a pop, plus a plate renewal fee. Some of the proceeds will go to the Siegel Shuster Society.

Superman license plates will soon be a thing in Ohio.

State Representative Bill Patmon announced that the enactment of Amended Substitute Bill 59 will give Ohioans the opportunity to recognize an international superhero on their vehicles.

Patmon said that he's been working toward making Superman license plates a reality for the last two years.

(Glad to s ee he's got his priorities straight.)

The license plates will commemorate Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, the two Cleveland-natives responsible for creating the comic book Superman character.

Beginning in October, interested Ohioans will have the option to choose plates that bear the Superman name and logo, as well as the words "Truth, Justice, and the American Way."

Ohio's mantra, "Birthplace of Aviation," ironically, will remain on top.

Plates will cost $10 a pop and proceeds will be donated to the Siegel & Shuster Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to commemorating the creation of Superman in Cleveland.
