Vigils Planned for Christina Adkins, Christina Kleckner, Ashley Summers

With news that hundreds of indictments have come down in one of Cleveland's longest-running missing persons cases, renewed awareness has sparked hope for others.

Christina Adkins' remains were discovered in a utility vault along I-90 earlier this month. Elias Acevedo was indicted on hundreds of charges of kidnapping, rape, and aggravated murder in that case and one other. A community vigil will take place at 6 p.m. today at the corner of West 25th Street and Kinkel Avenue, where Adkins was last seen in January 1995.

On that note, the families of Christina Kleckner and Ashley Summers have been given a renewed sense of hope for their own causes. Much like the May 6 rescue of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, the discovery of Adkins' fate has prompted reinvigorated searching and investigating.

A candlelight vigil will start at 5 p.m. at the corner of Denison Avenue and Ridge Road. The group will then march east toward Fulton Road. Summers was last seen July 6, 2007. Kleckner was last seen in October 2011.

The public is invited to all events listed here.
