You Should Watch This Chinese Rap Video About Cleveland Right Now

Local love for Cleveland is firmly established, of course. (But keep pouring it on!)

You may not realize, though, that love for Cleveland crosses international borders. That and much more is showcased in a brilliant new rap video straight outta Beijing. The goods are embedded below. Listen/watch/enjoy

Parma native Donny Newman (aka Li Mubai on the other side of the globe) is kind of a big star in China. He's a noted TV personality whose talents took singing competition "Challenge Mr. Mic" by storm, according to a 2010 Plain Dealer profile.

He kicks off the rap with a colloquialism transplanted from Cleveland: "For all my people in the +86..." From there, the rap touches on the high-water marks of Cleveland life: Great Lakes suds, the Browns, Horseshoe Casino, AsiaTown, Little Italy, the world-class education institutions and on and on. Newman and his buddies are seen all over town, shining an oriental light on the north shore.

For us here in town, it's a great reminder that Cleveland is as worldly a city as they get. Whatever the weary traveler may need, we've got it. And to those who've never heard of the place, the song is a top-notch primer on what makes this city special.

PLUS - this tune is catchy as all hell. One more thing to love here in Cleveland.
