Animals lovers in Canton, OH issued an "Amber Alert" of sorts earlier this week for a feline friend that was spotted roaming around the city with a plastic bottle stuck to its head.

As of early Friday morning, social media commenters on the Friends of Stark County Animal Shelter's Facebook page report that, thanks to community efforts, the cat has been located.

The hubbub began on Wednesday, when animal advocate Toby Franks posted a photo and a call for help in locating the cat that had apparently gotten itself into a rather tight spot.

The photo immediately took off on social media gaining thousands of shares among concerned community members who searched high and low for the poor creature and sent virtual prayers to the kitty gods.

Luckily for the cat, their efforts paid off.
