Downtown Records is shifting its sights. For the first time since the start of its Downtown Festival in 2011, the New York-based label is taking the show beyond the Big Apple. Downtown Festival will hit Cleveland, as well as four other cities, this fall. Former festivals featured such names as Kendrick Lamar and Purity Ring, and this year's features a slew of quality acts. The fest kicks off on Sept. 19, with the War on Drugs and Califone at House of Blues, Islands with Extra Spooky and Teen at the Grog Shop and Pomplamoose at Beachland Ballroom. Com Truise ties up the night with a late show that night at the Grog Shop. Singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle and Crash of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes play House of Blues on Sept. 20 and RJD2 performs at the Grog Shop that same night while Freeman performs at the Beachland Ballroom. A two-day pass to the festival is $59; a VIP two-day pass is $79. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. for all shows except War on Drugs. Those tickets are currently on sale.
