Sick Deals in Cleveland Heights to Celebrate Bitcoin Film Premiere

Posted By on Thu, Oct 2, 2014 at 12:13 PM

Friday night, Cleveland will premiere The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin, a new documentary exploring the revolutionary cryptocurrency at the Cedar Lee. Cleveland Heights is rolling out the red carpet coupons to celebrate.

Scene spoke with Daniel Mross, one of the filmmakers, for this week's Facetime interview. And it turns out he's not the only one who's psyched by the momentum of the bitcoin community in Cleveland. The CEO of the film's distributor (Michael Murphy, of Gravitas Ventures) relocated to Cleveland from L.A. to grow his film company, but has been overwhelmed by the aura of the Cleveland's eastern inner-ring suburb.

"After some due diligence, we discovered a very vibrant community of technologists and entrepreneurs in our back yard," Murphy said in an interview with Coinprices.io. "The Cedar Lee has always been a great venue for independent cinema and a lot of Gravitas films play there. It's been great to collaborate with them on The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin."

Though we highly recommend the film, (and the pre-premiere party and "Bitcoin 101" session with Bitcoin Boulevard entrepreneur Nikhil Chand at the Wine Spot), we also recommend taking advantage of the deals along Lee Road all weekend and into next week.
