Cleveland Named Among Nation's Best Coffee Cities
For decades, Cleveland's been hailed as one of the beer brewing meccas of the Midwest (and rightfully so), but now, it seems, folks are also paying attention to another type of home brew: coffee.
In fact, just this month, Cleveland was named in Travel and Leisure's list of
America's Best Coffee Cities, and with
more, and
more, and
more and
more(!) java joints cropping up on Cleveland corners, it's not hard to see why.
Via T&L:
As is often the case, Cleveland gets less credit than it deserves: local favorite roaster Phoenix Coffee has been roasting its own for 20 years now, with edgy options such as its own bourbon-barrel-aged coffee beans. Relative newcomer Rising Star Coffee, located in a former firehouse on West 29th Street, focuses on small batches from Brazil, served by way of pour-overs, AeroPress, and siphon.
We'd have
a few other local operations to the assessment, but hey, that's just us.
