We've known for awhile now that Nike and the Browns will be unveiling a redesigned uniform for the team for the 2015 season. We've also known for awhile now that as a condition of selling the team to Jimmy Haslam, one of Randy Lerner's three requirements was that the team never have a logo on the helmet. (For those who remember, an oath to not move the team was another one. The third one remains a mystery.)

So going into the process, we have known there won't be any major changes to the orange dome. Paul Lukas of Uni Watch, the foremost authority on these matters, dropped a little nugget in today's entry that mentions two changes that will come to the helmets. They are super minor, but people care about these things.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has been saying all along that the team’s impending uniform makeover, due to be unveiled next spring, won’t include any changes to the helmet. BUT! A little birdie tells me there will be two — TWO! — changes to the helmet, as follows:1. The stripe will have some sort of “new texture.”

2. There will be a new shade of orange, which will be more like Oklahoma State’s or Oregon State’s color.

In short: The Browns’ helmet will look pretty much the same as before, except in the subtle ways it doesn’t.
Oklahoma State's orange looks like this, and Oregon State's like this, if you were wondering.
