70 Percent of Clevelanders are Single, Study Says

Posted By on Tue, Feb 3, 2015 at 10:57 AM

Remember how last year you said that this year was going to be the year to snag that serious significant other; to settle down, to spend less weeknights drunk and less weekends hungover?

Well, apparently, you didn't.

This week, the consumer advocacy site NerdWallet released stats suggesting that 70 percent of Cleveland's population is single. In fact, NerdWallet ranked us the fifth best city in the U.S. to be single, citing our affordability, and our lively arts and music scenes.
5. Cleveland, OH

This Midwest city earns its high rank as an attractive city for singles because nearly 70% of its population isn’t married. And for those on a tight budget, the cost of a date in Cleveland is the second lowest of our top 10 cities. The city boasts a vibrant arts scene, especially at Playhouse Square Center, the second-largest performing arts center in the U.S. For a change of scenery, take your date outside to a concert at the Blossom Music Center.

Surprisingly, we beat out cities like New York and San Francisco, which didn't even crack the top ten.

You can check out the full study here.
