VIDEO: Cleveland's XHIBITION Puts Kanye's "Yeezy Boost 350" to the Test With Ballet

Cleveland men's boutique Xhibition is one of 30 stores in the world selling Kanye West's new Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 sneaker. To promote the fresh kicks, the store enlisted the help of locals to prove the shoe's performance.

Xhibition gave the new Adidas shoe a ballet bar exam by testing its endurance and energy-boosting claims on Akron ballerina Luisa Lynch.

In a promotional video for the shoe, the Martell School of Dance dancer is shown stretching, leaping and turning while wearing the shoes.

Celebrity-branded sneakers have been coveted ever since Michael Jordan was first fined for his black Nikes in the 1990s. But it’s rare to see a celebri-shoe hyped for its actual performance. In fact, the official trailer for a the sneaker (a 12-minute short film starring Kylie Jenner) does little to show off the sneaker’s durability or potential for athletic use. 

But leave it to Cleveland to keep it real. With clean lines and a perfect point, it’s clear from Xhibition's video the new sneaker didn’t hinder Lynch’s form. Instead, she’s seen excelling at her craft as she jumps off the ball of her foot.

The video, just over a minute and half, reinforces that athletic wear has a purpose beyond fashion. And, though flashy, a 12-minute performance of Jenner and friends standing in place isn’t nearly as powerful as seeing a product in action.
