Update: After receiving over 7,000 emails, the applications were shut down on Sunday and no more ticket requests will be accepted. A crowd of about 4,500 is expected for the debate.

No need to wait until next July to see Quicken Loans Arena stuffed full of Republicans — Cleveland will be hosting the first GOP presidential debate on Aug. 6 at 9 p.m., and if you're interested, you can apply to get tickets now.

To apply for tickets, send an email to the Ohio Republican Party at with the following information:
  • First and last name
  • Number of tickets requested (maximum of four)
  • Email address
The applications will be open until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 31. Seating will be limited, and portions of the arena will be blocked off. According to Ohio Republican Party spokesman Rick Gorka, the ticket selection process will be random, and those selected will be notified by Aug. 2 with instructions on where to claim the tickets.

Fox News will air the event, with moderators Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace.

The debate will feature the top 10 Republican candidates as determined by national polls. The final lineup will be announced closer to the event, so there's still time for Kasich to catch up now that he's officially entered the race. More likely, though, we'll see him in Fox News' Candidate Forum for the ones who don't make the cut, which will air before the debate at 1 p.m. on Aug. 6.
