Line-up Announced for Next Keepers of the Art Music Showcase Concert Series

Founded in 2006 to provide "an annual venue for hip-hop’s pioneers and independent and/or B-side soul artists,” the Keepers of the Art Music Showcase has brought artists as Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, Buckshot, Whodini, Rakim, MC Lyte, EPMD, Masta Ace, J-Live, Asheru, Brand Nubian, Nice & Smooth, Das Efx, Slum Village to town. Now, it’s just announced the bill for its next showcase, which takes place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Akron Art Museum.

Detroit born singer and songwriter Zo! ft Carmen Rodgers will headline. Washington D.C. singer, songwriter and MC Miamouna Youssef will perform, and Columbus-based DJ Krate Digga will spin classic soul music and “Golden Age” hip-hop music. Doors open at 7 p.m. General admission is $15. The Akron Art Museum’s galleries will be open to concert guests between 7 and 8 p.m.
