The Ohio City Singers Announce Schedule for Christmas Concerts

Concert Announcement

Posted By on Fri, Oct 16, 2015 at 11:37 AM

About 10 years ago, local singer-songwriter Chris Allen and his sister Molly worked up four Christmas tunes at their father’s request and then threw a big Christmas party to which they invited their musician friends. They played the four original tunes they had penned as well as a few choice covers, recorded them and delivered them on a CD to their father as a Christmas gift. That signaled the birth of the Ohio City Singers, a group of local musicians that plays several Christmas-themed concerts each year.

The band has just announced this year's schedule. It plays a Christmas ale tapping at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, at the Southside in Tremont. It then performs at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at Music Box Supper Club and will play at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, at GAR Hall in Peninsula and at 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, and Saturday, Dec. 19, at Vosh in Lakewood. The group doesn't have a new album in the works, but it’ll release a rollicking new single, the accordion-driven “Baby, Don’t You Know It’s Christmas.”
