Wednesday, the Cleveland Heights-based Black Women's Political Action Committee sent an email to anti-Sharia Law city council candidate Julie Love, she of the blog "Redneck Mom in the Hood."

The PAC said that, despite previously endorsing her candidacy, they'd read some of Love's blog posts and had decided to withdraw.

"Please refrain from using this endorsement on your literature or campaign material," they advised. (Full message below).

The Black Women's PAC has not yet responded to Scene's request for comment, but in a Facebook post, Ohio State Rep Janine Boyd (D, 9th District) said that the Black Women's PAC initially endorsed Love because she was the only candidate to show up to their endorsement meeting. Furthermore,

"They were completely unaware of [Love's] blog and other electronically published comments," Boyd wrote, "which were so opposite their mission and values."

Meanwhile, the Friends of Julie Love are doubling down on Love's broadly appealing anti-tax increase platform.

"I like how Julie Love is unafraid to give citizens her thoughtful reasons to hold the line on raising taxes," said resident Joe Barmann, in a letter of support on Love's website. "I think our city will be better off electing new council members with a variety of experiences, so that our beautiful City can be restored. I think she would challenge the status quo, and give us the fiscal experience that we really need."

Love is a certified public accountant, but her financial experience and tax views have taken a backseat to her ideological positions, Tea Party stuff that's seen as non-consonant with the predominantly left leaning Cleveland Heights.
