The "selfie fugitive from Ohio" was arrested today in Florida, which is really the only way this thing could have ended.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, someone called in a tip after noticing the guy from the viral news story down there.

"How’s this photo Donald Pugh?" the sheriff's office's social media human quipped. "Maybe that selfie helped people identify you better?"

That guy right there is Donald “Chip” Pugh, 45, currently on the lam from the Lima Police Department for “arson and vandalism.” We can't imagine it's a flattering portrayal of Pugh, and he doesn't think so either.

While fleeing the law, Pugh sent the police department a Facebook shot of him — "a better photo" — bedecked in houndstooth and shades. (See below.)

“We thank him for being helpful, but now we would appreciate it if he would come speak to us at the LPD about his charges," the police department added to its Facebook page

The Washington Post reports this morning that Pugh remains at-large. The newspaper also added this little tidbit to the saga:

After his mug shot and selfie started circulating on the Internet, the city’s classic rock station 104.9 Eagle featured Pugh on its”Idiot of the Day” segment. He is the first “idiot” to have been interviewed on-air, according to the hosts, albeit over the phone and not in person.
