At one point in time, the hard rock act Creed was so popular that it filled arenas like the Q. Songs such as "My Own Prison," "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open" became huge radio hits in the late ‘90s and early 2000s. But then it all came crashing to a halt as singer Scott Stapp struggled to stay sober and experienced periods of erratic behavior that were reported later to be an “undiagnosed bipolar disorder,” as it's put in his official bio.

Stapp left Creed and embarked on a solo career. He recently shared his story with People Magazine, the Dr. Oz Show and Oprah's Own Network. Now, he’s just launched a solo tour and is slated to perform at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the Kent Stage. Tickets are $30 in advance; they go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday.
