A graduate of Shaker Heights High School’s band programs, drummer Drew Schultz has performed/written with/toured with/recorded with an array of artists including the Four Tops, Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, Funk Brothers, and many others.  A drum teacher at the Detroit Institute of Music Education, he manages to make his way down to Northeast Ohio on occasion.

He's just announced that in early June, he’ll be in town. At 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, at Guitar Center on Mayfield Road, he’ll give a masterclass about the music industry and what it’s like to “forge a career in music.” He’ll mix live drumming demonstrations with stories and lessons taken from his career.

Then, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at Severance Hall, he’ll participate in the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center’s Sing Out! benefit concert. Cleveland Rape Crisis Center’s semi-annual chorale benefit performance, the event features community members from across the region who “come together as a celebrity chorale to raise awareness and support for critical services for survivors of rape and sexual abuse.”
