Samaria Rice Staying Far Away from RNC: 'I Value My Life'

The Republican National Convention begins today — and with it the rancorous discourse on all manner of political and social issues du jour. Samaria Rice, the mother of Tamir Rice and a vocal critic of the Cleveland Division of Police, says that she'll be staying far away from the downtown goings-on.

Here, The Guardian speaks with Rice about how the national discussion on police use of force has evolved since Tamir was shot and killed in November 2014.
