9:00 p.m is still a long time away. We know. Kill some of that time by reading five of the most recent and best stories about the Cavs and the series.

— Dave McMenamin, the Cavs beat writer for ESPN, wrote a fantastic piece about the relationship between Kyrie Irving and LeBron James and how they both know that Kyrie’s time to lead a team on his own will come, but it’s not here yet. “I know I don't want to look back and say that I let my selfishness get in the way of us winning championships,” said Kyrie.

- Zach Lowe is widely considered the best current NBA writer and this profile of Cavaliers’ big man Tristan Thompson is Lowe at his best. The story is an in-depth look at how Thompson became the player he is today, one that “deflates” the opponent's will with unbelievable offensive rebounding, according to the story.

- Lowe also broke down the series as a whole, from a strategical standpoint, and although he picked the Warriors to win, we’d still recommend giving this one a read as well.

- In one of the more in-depth and raw player profiles in recent memory, Chris Palmer, writing for ESPN’s The Undefeated, shows how mercurial Cavalier guard JR Smith has grown on and off the court since coming to Cleveland.

- Lee Jenkins of Sports Illustrated (well-known to Northeast Ohioans for co-authoring LeBron’s homecoming letter) is unparalleled when it comes to features, and here he does a deep dive on the current NBA landscape and how the Warriors and Cavaliers are dominating the league.

- Finally, if you want to know everything about this series from a strategic point of view, Matt Moore of CBS Sports has you covered. This piece that lists “20 awesome things to know about the three-match" is really well done.
