Like so many of us, Cleveland-based indie-pop songwriter Jesea Lee deals with anxiety. He has channeled his frustrations into “TV Glow,” the first single form his forthcoming debut EP Sleepspent. With its shimmering guitars and piano melody, it recalls the indie rock act the National.

"This song is about those sleepless nights when you just sort of replay and overthink things," says Lee in a press release announcing the album’s release. "That's kind of a running theme throughout the whole record. There's a little bit of angst and love, as well. All things most people nearing 30 probably feel, ha."

The guitarist for the now defunct punk band One Days Notice, Lee started to write songs for a solo album after the band split up last year.

The album comes out on July 14. Lee, who plays a CD release party on July 15 at the Five O'Clock Lounge in Lakewood, will donate all proceeds from album sales to the American Cancer Society.
