When Tori Amos played Cain Park in 2014, she put on a performance that displayed the intensity for which she’s known. As soon as she arrived on stage, a hush fell over the crowd.

Audience members treated the show with the reverence of a classical concert, which was a good thing since Amos was playing without the accompaniment of a band.

Amos, who wore heels, glasses and a long flowing silk robe that made her look rather distinguished (and a bit matronly), has made much of the fact that turning 50 has been difficult for her. But she played and sang with a youthful energy.

Expect something similar when Amos returns to town on Oct. 29 to play the State Theatre in support of her new album Native Invader, due out Sept. 8. Fans can access presale tickets at toriamos.tmverifiedfan.com. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11 a.m. on Friday.
