The alt-country duo Swearingen and Kelli plays music steeped in the sounds of Americana and country-folk. It echoes the singer-songwriters of the ’70s. Later this month, the group will embark on a tour to support its newest album, The Marrying Kind.

It will perform on July 23 at Blossom with the Cleveland Orchestra.

“We really dialed in our Americana country sound on this album,” says Swearingen in a press release announcing the tour. “I used lap-steel on many of the songs. I was very inspired by the sounds of David Lindley and Jerry Douglas. I even used a 1936 Rickenbacker to replicate some of those early sounds from the ’70s.”

Rob Fisher will conduct the Cleveland Orchestra for the Blossom gig that will feature a program of tunes by folk rockers such as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Neil Diamond and Cat Stevens. Expect to hear classic tracks such as "Sundown," "You've Got a Friend" and "Time in a Bottle" along with a Swearingen and Kelli original.

The concert begins at 7, and lawn tickets start at $24.
