We consider Pere Ubu/Rocket from the Tombs singer David Thomas to be one of the more creative people to ever have his name in the Scene masthead. Thomas worked here at the paper in the early ’70s before he would launch Rocket from the Tombs and then Pere Ubu.

Thomas continues to tirelessly record and tour with Pere Ubu and has just announced tour dates in support of the band's new album, 20 Years in a Montana Missile Silo, which is due out on Sept. 29.

Dubbed the MonkeyNet Tour, the jaunt will include an hour-long set of new songs as well as tracks from previous albums and Thomas' "infamous narratives."

"An infinite number of monkeys clicking on an infinite number of links will yield nothing but an infinite number of bananas," the often inscrutable Thomas says of the tour name in a press release announcing the dates.

The group performs at the Grog Shop on Nov. 22.
