Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James and business partner Maverick Carter have been busy in the entertainment world in recent years. And now, with their company SpringHill Entertainment, James and Carter are developing a new comedy for HBO about the obsessive world of sneaker culture — something James, one of Nike's signature athletes, is quite familiar.

The project, currently called Sneaker Store Project, follows two friends who own an up-and-coming sneaker store outside of Los Angeles. James and co. are teaming up with writers Shawn Wines, from HBO's High Maintenance, and Lemon Anderson, from the film She's Gotta Have It.

SpringHill currently produces the Starz network's Survivor's Remorse, a half hour comedy about a professional basketball player and his family (debuting its fourth season on August 20) and also NBC's The Wall, a game show hosted by comedian Chris Hardwick that gives away a shitload of money for basically getting a giant ball down the right slot and answering some easy trivia questions.

James, who signed a lifetime contract with Nike in 2015 (reportedly worth more than $1 billion), is also a sneakerhead. And he's also an investor in a sneaker store in Miami called UNKNWN. Carter, for his part, used to work for Nike and is now on the board of sneaker and apparel company KITH.

As Survivor's Remorse is a pretty good show, here's to hoping James and Carter can put something entertaining together here as well. We just don't want James to get too used to Los Angeles.
