Welcome to the Authentic Audio Podcast. Authentic Audio was created and is hosted by storyteller Aaron Calafato. It blends his signature storytelling style and authentic conversations with diverse guests from Cleveland, the American Rustbelt and beyond. Recent and upcoming guests include former Nina Turner, artist/writer Derf Backderf and CNN contributor Van Jones.

Aaron's 31 episodes in already, but this is the first time you're seeing it here. That's because we've recently partnered with him to bring Authentic Audio to Scene's audience. We'll be posting each new episode in this space but do encourage you to subscribe on iTunes or find it on Soundcloud as well.

The latest Authentic Audio episode features a conversation with musician Joey Sprinkles.

This is an episode for musicians, music lovers & music nerds.

Joe Boyer, a.k.a. Joey Sprinkles, is a dynamic musician, songwriter and experimental punk-pop artist. Several months ago we sat down, drank some coffee and had a conversation about his love of music, his passion for punk rock and his deeper mission with music and as he tours the country as a solo-artist.

Joe, who has played in local bands based in Cleveland for over a decade, was most notably the former guitarist for the Cloud Nothings. Now, as Joey Sprinkles, he’s in the midst of a new tour and will be releasing a new album called 7” on September 29th.

This album is filled with soulful punk-pop gems and you’ll actually get a chance to listen to a couple of songs from the album during the duration of this podcast.

Connect with Joey Sprinkles and his music here.

This episode is brought to you by Scene and the City Club of Cleveland.
