Many critics consider Mentor-born, Asheville-based musician David Wilcox, a guy who sounds a bit like James Taylor and sings with the cadence of Joni Mitchell, to be a “songwriter's songwriter.” Over the course Wilcox’s nearly 30-year career, artists such as k.d. lang have covered his tunes.

Currently at work on his 19th album, Wilcox will perform at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Music on Market in Wooster.

In addition to the Wooster show, Wilcox will perform a Studio C set for Summit FM listeners. The only way to catch the Studio C set, which will also take place on Nov. 15, is to be a Summit member. The Akron-based listener-supported independent public radio station is currently in the middle of a fund-raising drive.

“Music still stretches out before me like the head-lights of a car into the night,” says Wilcox in a press release announcing the shows. “It’s way beyond where I am, but it shows where I’m going. I used to think that my goal was to catch up, but now I’m grateful that the music is always going to be way out in front to inspire me.”
