An annual reunion show that brings together the best Cleveland punk bands from the ’90s and today’s local punk rock bands, Home for the Holidays Showcase: A Punk Rock Reunion has brought back bands such as the Vermin, the Librarians, the Hooligans and the Atomix.

Now in its fourth year, this year’s event, which takes place at 8 p.m. on Saturday at Phantasy Concert Club, will feature the local punk band the Unknown [pictured]. Founded in 1989 by front man Ken Blaze, the Unknown were inspired by second generation punk bands like the Descendants, ALL, Husker Du and Dag Nasty.

“Cleveland’s punk rock music scene would be unrecognizable without the Unknown,” says concert organizer, former Hooligans front man Billy “Hooligan“ Somerville. “It was bands like the Unknown that made me want to start a band of my own and I know for a fact I am not the only one who can say that the Unknown were truly great.”

This year’s concert will also include the local punk rock band Violet Ray, which features Somerville and former Flanked By Red Flags bassist Rich Kaufman. The band will play its upcoming debut record in its entirety and downloadable tracks will be available pre-release to those in attendance.

The '90s punk bands Cypher, the Atomix and Skitter round out the bill.
The show will also feature a raffle benefit for the Cleveland Food Bank. The raffle will include prizes from local businesses and exclusive vintage merchandise donated by the performers.

Tickets are $5.
