Channel 19 has fired News Director Fred D'Ambrosi, multiple sources tell Scene.

A message seeking comment from station VP/General Manager Erik Schrader wasn't returned by publication time.

The writing seems to have been on the wall for a while. A post on the TV news gossip/news site FTV Live from last summer speculated D'Ambrosi was heading out the door after two of his hires were let go by Schrader. The new GM had taken over for Dominic Mancuso, himself dismissed the summer before that, who had hired D'Ambrosi.

We'll update this post with any new information or comment from the station.
