Breaking news from the Action Weather Desk at Scene HQ: The weather outside is weather. That weather will be different from the weather tomorrow.

Four to six inches of snow is predicted as the balmy temperatures we're enjoying today dip again to sub-zero levels over the course of Friday. That'll be preceded by freezing rain.

Dire forecasts made earlier in the week have seemed to soften today as the front tracks further east. "Storm is still trending east and moving fast. This will likely lower forecast snow and ice accumulations. Still a significant impact type storm but not likely the magnitude we expected earlier in the week," Channel 5 meteorologist Gary Garnet tweeted today.

Betsy Kling say up to eight inches are possible, all accompanied by strong winds.

Scene's chief meteorologist, a small pup named Duncan whose owner works on the business side, licked himself before curling up in a blanket and snoring the afternoon away.

While the heaviest snowfall isn't expected until Friday night into Saturday morning, the mixture of sleet and freezing rain will arrive tomorrow afternoon and is sure to cause some evening rush hour headaches. So leave work early and stock up on booze.

If Duncan has any further updates, we'll let you know.
