Baby Rhino Newest Addition at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

After an unenviable 15-month-long pregnancy, mama rhino Kibibbi gave birth to a healthy calf Wednesday, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo just announced.

As the eastern black rhino species is listed as critically endangered, the addition is most welcome. This is the sixth rhino born here in Cleveland.

Since August, the zoo has welcomed a handful of adorable newborn animals, including a giraffe, red pandas and otters. And another female rhino at the zoo is expecting a new calf coming this fall.

As the pair are still bonding, mom and the still-to-be-named baby are not yet on display. But check out the two in action in the video below:
