Since 2002, singer-bassist Seth Bolt and singer-guitarist Bear Rinehart and his brother, guitarist Bo Rinehart, have toured and recorded as Needtobreathe, a Christian rock band that has garnered a substantial fanbase over the time period. The Rineharts were initially a coffeehouse folk act. Bolt was their soundman, and he eventually joined the band on bass and backing vocals. The group also includes singer-keyboardist Josh Lovelace.

The band's albums all deal with religious reckonings of some sort, a theme that will undoubtedly surface on the band’s forthcoming album, Forever on Your Side (Niles City Sound Sessions).

"Coming off of one of the most adventurous records we've ever made, followed by two of the most challenging and ambitious tours we've ever put together, we wanted our next project to be something that took us even further out on a limb," says the band in a press release announcing a 37-city tour. "These new songs document the season we’re in as a band right now. We’re extremely proud of it and wanted to put it out as fast as possible."

The Los Angeles duo JOHNNYSWIM will open the shows. The tour comes to Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica on Sept. 5.

Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase pre-sale tickets beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 30.
