Counting Crows Coming to Blossom in August

Last year at Blossom, Counting Crows reworked some of their biggest hits during a strong set. During “Mr. Jones,” for example, singer Adam Duritz made up lyrics on the spot.

Duritz also improvised heavily in “Palisades Park,” and the group sounded sharp on “Rain King,” a folk-y tune driven by a beefy organ riff and Duritz's Van Morrison-inspired vocal delivery.

Expect something similar when the band returns to Blossom on Aug. 26 on a tour dubbed 25 Years and Counting. +LIVE+ will open the show.

"The nice thing about having 25 years of music to celebrate and seven studio albums we absolutely love to choose from is that we can play a different show every night,” says Duritz in a press release announcing the dates. “The nice thing about touring with +LIVE+ is that we get to spend yet another summer with old friends who play great music. We can't wait!”

+LIVE+ singer-guitarist Ed Kowalczyk agrees with Duritz.

"+LIVE+ is beyond excited to get out on the road this summer and play for our fans," he says. "We are freshly reunited and performing with a confidence and ferocity that we can't wait for people to experience. The fact that we will be sharing the stage once again with the incomparable Counting Crows is icing on the cake!"

Counting Crows and +LIVE+ fan presales will begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday.
